Ikinu Primary School is based in Githunguri sub county in Kiambu county.
The school only had 16 latrines for over 700 girls and 12 latrines for over 600 boys which were not enough.
Mobile Alert Toilets with support from Toilets for All constructed a new 12-block latrine for the girls, renovated existing latrines for both boys and girls and added new waterless urinal pots donated by Urimat in the boys' urinals. The latrines include handwashing stations and a hygiene room for the girls. We also installed a biogas production system to be used in cooking for the kids and constructed a medium sized incinerator for burning the used menstrual pads.
